About Me

My name is Felicia Ferrante and I am a senior at the University of Delaware majoring in Health Behavior Science, and minoring in Public Health. I have a passion for health and fitness that I hope to use and share with the world in the future.

 

Background

I have come to love health and fitness in the past few years after discovering the vegan diet. I made an overnight change to a vegan diet after a night of watching documentaries about it, which opened my eyes about health issues surrounding diet and fitness that I had never even thought about before. Since that day, I have gone on to change my major from Fashion Merchandising to Health Behavior Science and I have spent many hours educating myself further on health and fitness, while looking to improve upon my own each day. My goal is to educate others on the severity of poor health habits, what they can do to make a change, and guide them along the way. With my minor, I would love to play a part in creating a healthier public with policy suggestions and promotion strategies.

 

Current Fitness Habits

I enjoy outdoor fitness and my favorite way to get exercise in is with hiking. I generally go to the same trail each time which has many hills to allow for a good workout. At the end of each hike I will do some body weight exercises, followed by stretching. My fitness habits depend on the day, and whether or not I have time to get a full workout in I always make sure to keep my body moving throughout the day. When it is too cold out to hike I will go to the gym and get some cardio in on an elliptical or treadmill. I also love to play my favorite music at home and dance for about an hour as another fun way to get moving. My main concern with fitness is having fun with it; it keeps me interested and motivated to continue!
