About the Reviewer
My name is Elizabeth (Lizzy) Cadle and I am currently a senior at the University of Delaware working towards a degree in Health Sciences with minors in Public Health and Psychology. With a strong aspiration for fitness and health I hope to one day become a Health & Wellness coach and assist others in transforming their lives in order to help them reach their fitness/life goals. I love to exercise, run, do yoga, and spend time outdoors with friends, family and my dog Duke.
My passion for fitness and health all originated from my parents. My mother was an All-American in track at the University of Oklahoma and is now a Captain in the Navy where she oversees the entire health department. My Dad played basketball at Potomac State College of WVU and is currently retired from the Navy working as a Health Care Executive at the U.S. Naval Academy. With two former collegiate athletes and Navy health field workers as parents my brother and I were taught at a young age about the importance of fitness and health and were always encouraged to try a variety of sports in hopes to one day follow in their footsteps.
My brother and I participated in sports all throughout middle school and high school, however decided that it was not something we wanted to pursue in college. As my brother took the business route, I followed my parents footsteps and started discovering my love for fitness and health. The environment I was raised in taught me that fitness is to be seen as a blessing not a ‘chore’ and overtime exercise and a healthy lifestyle became an everyday habit. It was not until my junior year of high school that I truly became passionate about fitness and health and helping others meet their fitness goals. It was then that I started doing research on different workout routines and nutrition plans and automatically became hooked to the transformation process.
Current Fitness Habits
Today, my fitness regiment changes every 2 weeks. This is because I tend to become bored of my workouts quickly so I will plan a 2 week workout regiment in advance. I have come to find that this type of planning is the best way for me to stay motivated and engaged before, during, and after every workout. For example, for the first 2 weeks of the month my workouts may consist of: strength training 4-5x a week as well as 20-30 minutes of cardio 5x a week. The last 2 weeks of the month, I may switch it up to HIIT Training 4x a week and cardio 3x a week. Throughout the month I will sporadically include light running and yoga about 5-6x each month. My fitness regiments always consist of what my fitness goal(s) for that month may be, whether it be focusing on strength/toning, flexibility, or endurance. Planning out each month in advance helps me to stay motivated for the weeks ahead as well as ensures that I am rarely stuck in a workout rut. As my mother always said, “If you fail to plan you plan to fail”.
